ORA600 [ktspgfb1] Raised When Using DBMS_STATS.GATHER_DICTIONARY_STATS

SYMPTOMS

When gathering dictionary statistics using DBMS_STATS we insert records into WRI$ tables like

sys.wri$_optstat_histgrm_history. This insert can fail with an error like:

ORA00600:

internal error code, arguments: [ktspgfb1],

[], [], [], [], [], [], []

And the call stack will look like:

ksedst ksedmp ksfdmp kgerinv kgeasnmierr ktspgfblk ktspgfbs ktspfsrch

ktspscan_bmb ktspgsp_cbk1 ktspgsp_cbk kdisnew ...
